Stone Bridge Farm is pleased to accept donated horses on behalf of Southern Virginia University.

Before a horse can be donated to SVU, it must be evaluated by Stone Bridge Farm trainers and staff to determine if the horse is suitable for our program. To make that determination, we ask the owner to send the horse to Stone Bridge for a two-week evaluation.

An owner desiring to donate a horse to SVU and receive an income tax deduction for the value of the horse must provide the University with a copy of the appraisal to be filed with the IRS, and an Intent to Donate form. Both of these forms can be downloaded from this page, below. Once the horse is accepted for donation, and these are received, a gift receipt for the horse will be sent to the donor from the University.
